These tee-shirts are Authentic Pigment Brand #1969/1971.
The tee-shirts are 100% cotton, 6 oz. weight, pre-shrunk. The cut on these tees is generous, with double-needle stitching throughout. There is a seamless rib at neck with a shoulder-to-shoulder tape.
These tees are pigment dyed. This means that they are pre-washed with a phosphate free detergent, then they are washed again with a cationic pretreat which allows the tee shirts to accept the pigment dye. Pigments will not dye cotton without the pretreatment. The pigment dye and an acrylic binder are added to the bath. The bath is heated to exhaust the pigment dyes onto the tee shirts. After drying, the tees are scoured, softened and then dried. The color of the tees have variations due to this process.
