***********Custom Orders***********

If you decide that a custom instrument is your preference, we are able to support that goal. Once again, we want to be sure that your expectations are met if not exceeded. Custom built instruments allow for a myriad of options that will make your new guitar one of a kind. The process will require that we discuss and document your specifications, and mutually sign-off on the final build configuration. Lead time for a custom model will be dependent on the specifications and availability of material (current estimated lead time for custom instruments is 12 months). This information will be included as part of the overall specifications and estimated cost of the instrument.

Deposit

Custom orders require a $ 500 (non-refundable) deposit before the start of the instrument build (personal check or money order). Upon receipt of the deposit, and estimated completion date will be provided.

An additional deposit may be required for materials that are unique for your instrument, and will be communicated/discussed during the specification process.

Changes to Custom Orders

Changes or deviations from the original agreed upon custom baseline will be reviewed by John Walker Guitars and the buyer to determine if there will be any impact to the completion date or the final cost. Any impacts to either delivery date or final cost will be communicated to the customer in writing to assure clear understanding and concurrence, before implementing any of the changes/modifications.

Cancellation by Customer

Notification of intent to cancel the custom built instrument is requested in writing. A review of any "special" ordered material (for your custom instrument) will be considered before determining the value of the deposit refund. We will identify any non-refundable costs as part of our quote process.

Final Payment

Final payment must be made via personal check or certified check. Personal checks must clear before the instrument ships. We will ship your custom instrument per your instructions.
